Bleh. Just me messing around in Gimp... I'm running out of ideas here.
Well, I'm sure you all know who that is. Yup, my poster character: Kaze Trane... In 16-bit!
After playing the Scott Pilgrim game, I've gotten so many urges to just go wild with making sprites such as these. It's a damn good game. Anyone who grew up in the 90's or late 80's should love the old school feel of it. It takes many cues from other games of the same era, such as Double Dragon, River City Ransom, Mario Bros, Megaman, and even Final Fantasy. I never read the comics, nor seen the movie - But hey! The game kicks ass!
Because I felt one palette wasn't enough, I made four. Two original ones, and two are parodies. Can ya' guess?

I can guess the 2 parodies. The obvious Yuri one on the right, and the one next to it is a Link parody. She's just missing the ears. Plus, Link is as old school as the rest of the games you mentioned, so I wasn't surprised. There are the only two versions where she's wearing a headband, too.
So, now you can do screenshots. And, lookit, there's that strange white flag next to the battery icon. Wonder what that means in Windows-speak?
